George “Flintstone” Andrade Memorial
Puunene, Maui – Maui Raceway Park’s 4th event of the 2016 racing season was the 20th Annual George “Flintstone” Andrade Memorial drags. As the Valley Isle Timing Association opened the gates, well over 100 racers wasted no time in going head-to-head in front of over 1000 very excited fans. Competitors and spectators alike came from all over Hawaii to be a part of the magic, as did many drag racing enthusiasts from all around the world that were vacationing on Maui.
At the end of the three-day weekend of racing, several trophies were handed out to the battle hardened warriors of the 1320 in Fast Gas, Pro Sportsman, Bracket Bike, Street Bike, Stick Shift, Jr. Dragster and Top Eliminator. Highlighting the festivities were about 100 beautify restored class cars that descended upon the 220 acres facility located smack dab in the middle of paradise; proudly supporting our fallen “Armed Forces” heroes by parading their mechanical masterpieces and their patriotism accordingly.
We hope that you will enjoy our Dragstrip Iron coverage of this most incredible event. Many Mahalos to the VITA staff and the racers for their ongoing encouragement and support.
